When your transplant center gets a call that there is a kidney being offered for you, your transplant surgeon has an hour to accept or turn down that kidney. You have to be reachable within an hour at all times. Give your transplant team the phone numbers of family and friends. If you are going to be out of town, even for just a few hours or overnight, let your coordinator know where you can be reached. Make sure they can find you. |
